Creating a radius layer

A radius layer consists of geographic circles drawn around points in another layer. Radius layers are useful for calculating coverage areas or service areas where proximity to a point of interest is important. Radius layers can be clipped to another map layer, so for example you can restrict the drawn circles to land masses (or to bodies of water).

To create a radius layer:

  1. Choose Layer > Draw Radius...
  2. Enter the desired distance, and choose the layer around which to draw the circles
  3. Press OK
