About coordinate reference systems

Latitude and longitude coordinates are not the only way to refer to points on Earth. Features in many geographic files are referenced with a coordinate reference system (CRS) that must first be transformed to latitude and longitude by Magic Maps before additional processing can take place.

Coordinate reference systems are usually projected coordinates that use a projection method and a model of Earth. Magic Maps is able to transform coordinate reference systems that use the following projection methods:
