Sorting map features by primary key

The primary key uniquely identifies features in a map layer. By default map features are sorted by name in the data table. If you are working with external data sets, it is sometimes useful to sort by primary key instead.

To sort map features by primary key:

  1. In the Map Layers window, select the map layer which contains the features you wish to sort
  2. Open the data pane by clicking "Show Data" in the toolbar
  3. In the data table, click the header cell of the "Key" column

Click the header cell again to reverse the sort order.
